About ice a trail

in the beginning

Four years ago I started writing about the concept of success for a blog called The Secrets of their Success.

I loved it: talking to worldwide bestselling authors, Grammy winning musicians, actors, dancers, even a Gulf War veteran pilot shot down and tortured as a PoW. And through their words, I explored the tenacity and determination that was the common denominator in their respective success stories.

But somewhere along the way I found a connection with athletes – the world record holders, the Olympic medal winners, national and international champions from track and field and yes: winter sports.

Maybe it came from my love of all things snow and ice – I’ve skied since I can remember, boarded for almost as long (albeit as yet with not quite the same ability!) and a decade ago trialed for bobsleigh. In any case, a passion for winter sports led me to develop an understanding – or the will for one – of its top participants. Gradually a bias began to form on my blog, a leaning towards those personalities who plied their trade on the frozen stuff.

It seemed to me a natural evolution to bring them all together in their own winter sports arena – and ice a trail was born.

I hope you find the content here interesting, revealing, enlightening. But most of all I hope you find a way to benefit from the lessons of those who’ve found success on snow or ice. Because whatever your terrain, if I’ve learned one thing it’s that the concept of success has some universal prerequisites.

So read on, and discover the path to your own goals.

If you’d like to get in touch I’d love to hear from you. In the mean time keep checking in with ice a trail for your free inspiration and guidance because really, who needs to pay for self-help books?

Keep striving!
